LinKS Connect and Influential Lounges
The LinKS Network meets between two and four times a year for LinKS Connect events. The reunions serve as a possibility for our Alumni to catch up with their Wharton delegation and to make connections across the different Wharton programs. LinKS operates across the public, private, and political sector which also manifests itself at our events. Here we post urgent societal topics for the LinKS Alumni and friends of LinKS to discuss and contribute with inputs to.

Co-creating Real Challenge 28 April 2016 LinKS@Brussels
A close discussion with Margrethe Vestager, EU Commissioner for Competition, on global governance and competition
The Commissioner had asked for our help on the challenge: How do we solve the dilemma being that what we need the most in the long term (investments to create growth and jobs) are prevented by what is happening in the short term?
In order to engage people on the fence to join the positive resistance, it requires personal leadership and transparency selling in the passion.
Following our session with Commissioner Vestager, we had a discussion on governance and competition from a corporate angle with Brian Moran, president, EU and NATO Relations for Boeing International.
Brian Moran focused on how Boeing as a global player is growing in Europe and outlined which policy issues affect that growth, both positively and negatively. Brian Moran spoke of winning an air traffic market and going to the moon despite many hardening, difficult circumstances. As a result and in light of the challenge proposed by the Commissioner around jobs and growth, Brian Moran posed the following challenge for co-creational inputs:
In light of external realities, regulatory dynamics and global competition, what is the case for multi-national companies to create growth and jobs in/from Europe?
Thanks to LinKS Alumni for trusted high level insight delivered with exceptional efficiency, once again.
